Profit Targets in Copy Trading: Why Our Package Stops at $50

Copy trading profit target: a dart on a black and white target board

Most copy-trading services run open-ended: the trades keep coming until you switch them off. Our package is built around a copy trading profit target instead. It trades your MT5 account until it is $50 in profit, then stops. This article explains why a target is a sound money-management rule, exactly how ours is counted, and what happens if it is not reached.

Why a profit target is a risk rule

A target sounds like a goal, but in money management it is also a limit. Every extra day an account trades, it is exposed to the market. Stopping at a defined gain:

  • locks in a result instead of giving it back in a bad week;
  • stops the "just one more trade" habit;
  • makes the deal measurable — both sides know when the job is done.

How the $50 is counted

After every closed order, our Expert Advisor reports your account balance. Profit is:

Profit = balance now − balance when the package started − money you deposited since then (+ money you withdrew)

  • A deposit is never counted as profit.
  • A withdrawal is never counted as a loss.
  • A loss must be recovered first. If $1,000 drops to $950, the target is still $1,050.

What happens at the target

When profit reaches $50, the package is complete: the EA closes open positions and stops trading. On your MT5 chart it shows Target filled, with the date until which no trades will be made. The $25 fee is then earned by us — the only way we keep it.

What happens if it is not reached

A package lasts 7 days from the moment you pay, not one day more. If the target has not been reached when the 7 days end — or the account is stopped out before that — the full $25 is refunded to your wallet automatically and the account is disconnected. You can withdraw the refund without any fee from us.

The refund covers the fee only. If your broker account is down at the end of the 7 days, that loss is not refunded. The target is a target, not a promise. Read the Risk Disclosure.

The timeline of one package

MomentWhat happens
You pay $25The 7 days start; the starting balance is recorded
Each closed orderThe EA reports the balance; profit and "left to target" update in your dashboard
Profit reaches $50Positions closed, trading stops, package complete
Day 7 without the target$25 back to your wallet automatically; account disconnected

And then? A new package

You can buy a new package for the account once the previous one is complete or refunded. Its target is +$50 on the balance at that time. You can also run packages on more than one account.

Why $50, and why 7 days?

A fixed dollar target and a short, fixed window make the deal easy to understand and easy to check: one price, one target, one timeline. For an account of the recommended $1,000, $50 is a 5% target — a meaningful but not extreme goal for a week. A smaller account must make a larger percentage to reach the same $50, which is one reason we recommend $1,000.

Four worked examples

All examples start with a balance of $1,000 at the moment the package is paid.

CaseWhat happensResult
A. Straight to targetAfter several closed orders the balance is $1,051Profit $51 ≥ $50: package complete, trading stops
B. Dip, then recoveryBalance falls to $960, then climbs to $1,050The $40 loss had to be recovered first; at $1,050 the target is reached
C. A deposit mid-wayYou deposit $500; balance later reads $1,530Profit = $1,530 − $1,000 − $500 = $30: not yet at target
D. Not reachedOn day 7 the balance is $1,020Target not reached: $25 refunded to your wallet; the $20 gain stays in your broker account

In case D you keep both the refund and whatever the account gained; if the account had lost, the refund would still be paid, but the loss would remain yours.

Why open trades are not counted

Profit is counted from the balance after closed orders, not from equity with open trades. An open trade can still turn; counting it would let a package be marked complete on a profit that later disappears. The Expert Advisor closes the open positions at the moment the target is reached, so the result is locked in the balance.

Following progress

Your dashboard shows, for each package: the starting balance, the profit counted so far, what is left to the target and the days remaining. The same figures appear on the MT5 chart. If they ever disagree, the Help Center can check the reported balances with you.

Frequently asked questions

Does a deposit during the package count towards the $50?

No. Deposits are subtracted from the calculation, so only trading profit counts.

What if I withdraw from my broker account during the package?

A withdrawal is added back, so it is never counted as a loss. But a smaller balance carries more stop-out risk.

Can I change the target?

No. The target, price and days in force when you buy are the terms of that package. See the Terms of Service, section 3.
